The problem doesn't occur during installation (which seems to work fine), but after it's installed-- when you run the program it should bring up a modal dialog to log in. The dialog actually seems to be active (hitting ESC does cause it to cancel) but you can't see it. I can provide screenshots and output dumps if necessary.
This also seems similar to the description of bug 825, is that a duplicate of this one? Or a different bug?
