Bug ID: 49060 Summary: Using keyboard layouts with "ö" causes issues Product: Wine Version: 5.6 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: david.wilken@web.de Distribution: ---
Created attachment 67038 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=67038 Lower row on keyboard typed - should be "Y X C V B N M"
Manjaro KDE, x86-64
When using keyboard layouts with the umlaut "ö", typing a "v" or "V" into any kind of text field causes an "ö" or "Ö" to appear instead. For me it appeared in the German keyboard layout.
I noticed this bug the first time I was using the Proton 5.0.6 for GTA:V and thought it might be a Proton specific issue. Now I am using WINE 5.6 for World of Warcraft and it causes the same issue.
This seems to be the case for all german keyboard layouts (even QWERTY).

--- Comment #1 from David Wilken david.wilken@web.de --- Forgot about this one:
Interestingly "v" as a hotkey still works in games. In WoW I can still use any skills that have been set on the hotkey "v" and in GTA:O I still can change camera positions.
Only everything that has to do with typed text seems to be converted in to "ö".

--- Comment #2 from David Wilken david.wilken@web.de --- I resolved this issue.
For whatever reason KDE made some config files in which it changed the locale settings. After deleting the ~/.config/plasma-localerc and ~/.config/plasma-locale-settings.sh everything works fine!
