typical GC2 twilight error

The GC2 Launcher works but I cannot play the twilight or dark avatar game
The original GC2 game Dread lord does work
I also can not run the updater

GC2 update error

I get this from running an update on any of the GC2 games

GC2 Dread lords no longer works in 1.1.43, the error looks similar to the
others
Dread Lords did work in wine 1.1.38

I see that we both own Ultimate edition... I tried this game, and find out,
that to make Xrender happy, i need to setup the Civ into a windowed mode,
otherwise it crashes.

wine GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe

works for me under 1.1.43.

How do I do that and Twilight doesnt work for me

Setting the windowed mode:
(Run) winecfg -> (tab) Graphics -> (check) Emulate a virtual desktop

Then open a console and 1) go into your game directory and 2) run the game:

1) cd .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/...

2) wine GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe
