I've been trying to softmod my Playstation 2 and I have to use IDGET to get the
ID of a disc and such but IDGET doesn't see my disc drive.

I am using a Toshiba Satellite L355 Laptop

And my disc drive is: MASHITA - DVD RAM UJ880AS

I've tried re-inserting the disc and restarting IDGET but it those attempts did
not work...

does anything change if you open winecfg, click detect drives and then run the
app again?

No, nothing happens.

It's strange because whenever I have a disc in the drive, it never comes up.
But when I DON'T have one in the drive, it's detected. :/

Is there a download link for this application? Are you able to force the
application to use Wine's ASPI layer if possible? It seems to be that the app
is using SPTI, which doesn't quite work on Wine.

Hello folks,

I can't reproduce this, the drive is shown in list.

Prerequisite: 'winetricks -q vb6run'
> From trace log one can see it searches for 'SYSTEM.CNF' which is PSX CD-ROM.

OP probably didn't mount the CD properly/made it visible within Wine
(hal/udisks).

$ sha1sum IDGET.rar

$ du -sh IDGET.rar 
8.0K    IDGET.rar

$ wine --version
wine-1.7.19-56-gee13e10
