Bug #: 32880 Summary: Some Menus not working in Microsoft Money 2005 (version 14) Product: Wine Version: 1.5.22 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: junk_2010@live.co.uk Classification: Unclassified
Installed wine 1.5.22 on Ubuntu 12.04.1 (32 bit). Clean install with previous .wine directory removed.
Program installed ok, this is as with previous versions of wine (1.4.1 and 1.5.19).
Good news. The program started up. Previously (1.4.1 and 1.5.19) it always crashed. The only way to go any further would have been to install ie6. Not required today.
When I tried to use the "lower" menu row in the program, the mouse highlighted the menu names, but nothing happened when pressed. Output in the terminal was like:
fixme:ieframe:navigate_url Unsupported args (Flags 0x115c430:19; TargetFrameName 0x115c440:0) fixme:ieframe:navigate_bsc Navigation canceled fixme:urlmon:URLMoniker_BindToObject use running object table fixme:ieframe:ClOleCommandTarget_Exec Unimplemented cmdid 28 fixme:ieframe:object_available Could not get IHlinkTarget interface

When I tried the upper menu row some of these did work. However, the program crashed when the upper "File" menu was pressed. The terminal output was:

--- Comment #3 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
still present, adding download to Japanese version of MS Money 2005 (only that one is available for v14).
You need to start it with: LANG=ja_JP wine ./foo
Confirming comment #2 - the crash for the file menu is also present in Microsoft Money 2007.

--- Comment #6 from pc junk_2010@live.co.uk --- Installed wine 1.7.17 on Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit). Clean install with previous .wine directory removed.
"wine notepad" worked and displayed the expected wine version.
Program installed and started ok (as previously). However, (as before) very limited functionality when program was running. Easy to create a program crash.
Installed ie6 using winetricks. Program now very functional, less problems than before. On limited testing only found one menu item that caused a crash.
File -> Print Setup -> Cheque Setup... also caused a "Microsoft Money Error Reported" window to open. Saved backtrace log from this window, which I will attach (attachment 48270 ). On exiting this error window had a program crash.

--- Comment #8 from Eric Sanford esanfo99@gmail.com --- Still present in wine-1.9.22. The File->Open bug appears to be related to shdocvw.dll (or shlwapi.dll). As a workaround, I installed native shdocvw.dll and shlwapi.dll from IE7 in a clean Wine bottle, added native/builtin overrides for shdocvw and shlwapi, and then (order matters) registered/installed shdocvw.dll with the "/i" option.
wine regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll

--- Comment #10 from Fabio Povoa fabio@smrtmny.vc --- I have managed to solve the issue by making sure to tick the option msmxlm3.o in Winetricks.
Hope that helps.
