The Validate CD key sample .msi file from chapter 14 causes wine to crash. It
is also missing a text input box for a serial number that is present on
windows.

Which file are you trying to use? I tried TryNotepad.msi, which crashes, but I
don't see any place that looks like a serial number is needed, unless it (is
supposed to) show up after the crash.

The serial number prompt shows up when I run it in windows, it doesn't show up
in wine, though it should.
