I have the problem that I can only choose the maximum resolution in games on my Dell Latitude D830 with NVIDIA NVS140M. My OS is Ubuntu 8.04 i386. The maximum resolution is 1280x800 but as I like to play in windowed mode I want to choose a resolution of 800x600.

--- Comment #2 from Korn wine@temporaryforwarding.com 2008-05-11 19:34:58 --- The problem does not only affect counter-strike. This just an example screenshot. Other games like half-life or Unreal Tournament are also affected.

Seems that the Mode-options in xorg.conf are ignored. How do I change that? The xorg.conf in Xorg version 1.4.0.90 (that Ubuntu uses) is some kind of deprecated.
I do not use TwinView.

--- Comment #6 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-05-12 13:14:16 --- /var/log/Xorg.0.log may tell you why it's ignoring the other resolutions. In any case, this sounds like a problem with your X configuration. Please ask your favorite support forum for help on this. If xrandr shows multiple resoltions, but wine still does not, then reopen this bug.
