When batch processing many images, a progress bar sometimes appears. If i use
compiz and place the main Photoshop window into another viewport (for it to
stay unnoticed), the progress bar always appears in the active viewport and
becomes the active window, which is very irritating.

No. Sorry, when adding the bug report, i didn't know Wine is not a friend to
Compiz.

Resolution should be invalid. Hopefully the compiz folks will work it out.

The bug is clearly visible in metacity, not only compiz. The progress bar and
the photoshop itself become the active window during processing every image,
while the progress bar although has the on-top property turned on.

Sure, glad to help. We need a cpu-heavy step for the progress bar to appear. I
think that the Lens Blur filter is enough for it. Open an image in Photoshop,
and make an action containg:
1. Filter-Render-Lens Blur (with "More accurate" option turned on")
2. Close image (without saving)

After that do:
File-Automate-Batch, and choose a folder containing lots of images, preferably
of large resolution (i.e. pictures from the digital camera). Press OK, and
switch to any other application. Photoshop will now let you work normally as
the images and the progress bar will always come on top and become active.
