First, there is bug #21321 where the game crashes in the menu when starting a skirmish game. This bug report about the crash that happens while the game is loading to the menu. When the loading bar reaches ~95%, the game shows an error message and quits: 'The instruction at 004eb728 referenced memory at de400c74 The memory could not be read from'
With native d3drm the game can load to the menu fine.

The fact the crash happens earlier is just how the game handle errors. In reality we go much further in the d3drm init. Regression keyword should be removed and bug 21321 should be closed as fixed.
