I recently installed Wine in the hopes that i could complete my system with
this final piece of software that i use. It's the canon easy photo print.

I know from past experience that not every windows software could run properly
with wine but i had my hopes up. The problem is rather curious for me. I tried
printing with the notepad in wine and it worked.

But when i try to run the Canon Easy Photo Print software, at startup, it will
say that no printer is installed.

yes. I managed to make it work using a driver i download from canon's website.
I converted the RPM driver using alien. it works  without any problems on all
applications i tried. However im lost as to why this particular software does
not/ would not detect my printer.

I've searched for a compatible native software similar to this one but found
nothing.

I just wanted it to work. My wine installation is working, i have tried other
applications such as utorrent and a game, C&C Red Alert.

If it depends on installing a windows print driver, this is a wontfix.
