Google Chrome doesn't seem to connect to the internet.
I just lodged a separate bug #15107 for this since it is a separate issue.

However the font for the typed in URL in the address bar doesn't appear "clean".

This bug includes a couple of topics. I created a new bug and posted a small test case for just the riched20 problem causing the URL bar to be incorrectly rendered:

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15106
--- Comment #16 from Dan Hipschman dsh@linux.ucla.edu 2008-09-04 16:56:48 --- Created an attachment (id=15837) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15837) Hack that works with winetricks riched20 but isn't correct
The problem when only overriding riched20 is that it does a string compare on the class name in WM_CREATE for the omnibar, comparing it to "RICHEDIT", but the class name is an atom, not a pointer (it comes directly from CreateWindowEx), and wcsicmp chokes on this.
I thought the fix for this was to translate atoms to the strings they represented (patch attached), but the conformance tests failed, so this is not the way to go. Maybe it will give someone a clue as to what's happening, though.
Also, I found using a native riched20.dll from an XP box worked without the above hack, and without riched30.

--- Comment #17 from jekwas@gmail.com 2009-08-16 19:16:25 --- Created an attachment (id=23124) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=23124) Chrome UI -- 1.1.27 (Ubuntu)
Running the bug in 1.1.27 the interface renders correctly, but occasional flashes of black and other visual glitches appear when area focus changes (eg clicking in an input box).
The connectivity problems persist; I cannot leave about:blank.
Maximizing Chrome causes the interface to compact into an about 50x50 pixel box in the upper-right of the screen (I needed to unmaximize from the window list to restore the UI).
The log errors are similar to those presented in the bug reports, so I'm not attaching a new version.

--- Comment #18 from Luke gaming4jc2@yahoo.com 2010-01-26 20:51:18 --- Created an attachment (id=25906) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=25906) Newer Log showing wine 1.1.37 and Chrome 4.0.249.78 on Karmic
I'm testing latest stable build of 4.0 "4.0.249.78 unknown (36714)" from Softpedia ( http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Browsers/Google-Chrome.shtml ).
Interface seems fine for me on Ubuntu 9.10 AMD64 with wine 1.1.37, but it's definitely worthless for browsing due to the about:blank - hence no Internet connection or page viewing. Attached is a newer log.

Looks okay in wine-1.3.20-230-g456e48e, though I need --no-sandbox to get webpages to load (bug 21232).
