VMware-player-3.1.3-324285 Setup only has white screen. From console log i would guess it's gecko related.

Installing ie8 via winetricks and starting the installer again = white screen box like comment #1.
The download link points into different version than the original issue was, but this feels similar in behaviour.

Fresh prefix the installer hangs someway doing nothing. winetricks -q ie8 seems to help, but it makes the installer all white. Like comment 1.
