Whenever I play Devil May Cry 5, and the window of the game looses its focus
for one second, I can't use the keyboard or the controller, and I have to press
alt+f4 to force close the game. I tried to run the game in window mode, and I
tried to emulate a virtual desktop from winecfg, but nothing works.

I had the same issue with Thronebreaker The Watcher Tales, and I had to use
external tool to make it run in window mode, the name of that tool is dxwnd,
but it doesn't work with DMC 5, the game freezes when opened with this tool
using WINE.

Update to my bug report:

Blacksad (GOG) has the same issue.

The common thing between these 3 games are they all requires

I am sorry. I didn't finish my last comment

I have issue where I can't use my keyboard or Joystick with 3 games. These
games are Blacksad, Devil May Cry 5, and Thronebreaker The Watcher Tales.

The common point between those 3 games that they require native Mfplate.dll to
run. I had good chance with Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and Resident Evil 2
Remake that they also required native Mfplate.dll, and they ran without any
input issues, so I don't know what causes issues with these 3 games in
particular.

Removing all native dll files related to media foundation makes the controller,
and the keyboard work at the main menu, and ingame but using alt + tab at any
time break the controller, and the keyboard input again, and I need to press
alt + f4 to force close the game.

Blacksad doesn't respond to keyboard, and controller input with WINE 4.21, but
this issue doesn't exist with Proton 4.11-9, or WINE 4.19, because I played the
game with that version before without any issues. Also, pressing alt + tab with
Proton 4-11.9 doesn't freeze the game completely.

Devil May Cry 5 doesn't respond to keyboard, and controller input with WINE
4.21, but this issue doesn't exist with Proton 4.11-9. Also, pressing alt + tab
with Proton 4-11.9 doesn't break keyboard, and controller input.

I will give these games a test with older versions of WINE to know when this
regression exists.

I tested WINE from version 4.11 to 4.21, They all have the same issues. I have
no issues with Proton 4.11-9.

When I added 3 gamepad patches from Proton to WINE, I don't have this issue any
more. I will upload these patches.

Devil May Cry 5, Blacksad, and Heavy Rain: I can't use gamepad when using alt +
tab.

Devil May Cry 5, and Blacksad: I can't use Keyboard/Mouse, or gamepad at all
when I am in the main menu.

All these bugs don't exist with Proton, but after applying the 3 Proton patches
to WINE that I uploaded before, all these issues disappears.
