Gutsy and Delorme Installation procedure

I did a fresh install of Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 on a new Compaq F750US and got all
updates from repositories. The complete procedure is in an attached file.

I then installed Delorme 2006 Plus using the procedure attached with nothing
other than WINE 0.9.46 as released by the Kubuntu repositories. I set the
default to Windows XP. The program did install with quite a few error messages
shown in the attached file. While installing the data CD, the number of errors
was too large and I could only get the last 50 pages or so.

I ran dmesg to get a listing for the hardware and any possible problems for
WINE to detect hardware related issues. The file is attached.

The program does start and does run. The graphics and text are poor quality,
and were much better when I used the Wine-doors as reported in another bug
report using the installation I over wrote.

Various functions do not work. One is the "Find Tab" error common with Delorme
(magnetic declination fix associated with DCOM and MDAC). Also, when tabbing
between boxes while attempting a search, the tab moves 2 boxes rather than 1.

If the install completes and does not fail then you can generally ignore the
messages that fly by.  If the application fails at any point during the install
then these are worth mentioning.

Unless the application specifically requests to be run on Windows XP you should
leave the windows version as default.

Generally when reporting bugs, it's recommended to test on the latest version
of wine, can you upgrade to wine-0.9.55 and try running this program again?

Charlie, do not reply to wine-bugs.  Post replies in Bugzilla.  Email read:

"I guess that means you didn't read my bug report, since I stated that I 
did not install wine-doors this time to avoid you doing just what you 
did, close the bug report.

What other words do I need to leave out of bug reports so you guys don't 
do that?"
