Bug #: 32067 Summary: Borderlands 2 Resolution Issue Product: Wine Version: 1.5.15 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: jitsumi@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 42272 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42272 wine log
I cannot play with some resolutions. I got a "ran out of videomemory! Exiting..." message.
That is weird, is that a resolution A will work, and a C also. But a resolution B that is bigger thatn A but smaller than C will not work...
From the log i got : err:d3d:resource_init Out of adapter memory
so i think it is in the directx-d3d component, but not sure.
I puit in attachement the complete log.

--- Comment #1 from DL dredgingthelake@gmail.com 2012-10-31 19:25:13 CDT --- What video card? If I remember correctly not all card's memory size will be detected correctly so you should try setting it in HKCU -> Software -> Direct3D -> VideoMemorySize in the registry.

--- Comment #2 from jitsumi@gmail.com 2012-10-31 22:01:35 CDT --- I have a Nvidia Quadro FX 2800M, no the most frequent graphic card i think, so i will not be surprised if it is not detected correctly.
I will try what you told me as soon possible.

Hum, I'm sorry, I don't find any key or entry named Direct3D (I made a research in the registry)
You have to create it yourself. Go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Wine and then right click/new/key, name it Direct3D. Then in that key (looks like a folder) create a new "string value" and call it VideoMemorySize, then double click and change the value to your memory size in MB (without the MB) e.g 896

--- Comment #5 from jitsumi@gmail.com 2012-11-01 01:06:44 CDT --- Ha, ok, i knew how to add a key, just thought that the key was already there ^^'.
I just pass in 1.5.16 before trying your manipulation, and it seems it was corrected. I'm going to make more investigation to be sure.
Thanks.

--- Comment #6 from jitsumi@gmail.com 2013-03-12 09:37:43 CDT --- Well after reinstalling the game many times, i could't reproduce this bug, so i don't think it's a wine problem. I know that this game become messy under windows by itself sometime...
So we should close this bug (I don't want to mark it resolve, because nothing was resolved...)
