The bug appears only under OpenSolaris, the same Counter Strike client connects well under linux. OpenSolaris snv_133 is used.

Have you disabled steam community in game?
My client has steam disabled. I have used it under Win XP and Debian's wine to connect to local and internet "no steam" servers.

My client has steam disabled.
