Bug #: 31617 Summary: Driver Y: and Z: required to make wine to work properly Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: trizt@iname.com Classification: Unclassified
The dosdrivers Y: (~/) and Z: (/) seems to be mandatory to make wine to work properly, which can lead to file corruption and loss of data as well as information leakage.
Files in ~/ can be deleted or written by wine, which can cause file corruption or data loss and access to / (and ~/) can cause information leakage, so it should be up to the user of wine to decide if they should have y:/z: without sacrifacing the functionality of wine.

I don't think Y: is required.

--- Comment #2 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org 2012-09-05 15:08:08 CDT --- There's no Y: drive in Wine, and removing Z: should be fine (though useless). If you have a specific issue please file a new bug describing the exact problem.
