Bug ID: 55970 Summary: Switching sound devices does not work correctly Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: aarch64 OS: Mac OS X Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: preston@babypuncher.net
App tested: foobar2000
Behavior when switching sound devices is inconsistent.
Switching from headphone jack to internal speaker does work when "Primary Sound Driver is selected" and output device is changed in macOS or by unplugging headphones.
The inverse does not work, Wine will continue playing audio through the internal speakers after macOS has switched back to the headphone jack.
Manually changing sound devices away from "Primary Sound Driver" in foobar2000 itself causes playback errors.

--- Comment #2 from Preston preston@babypuncher.net --- Created attachment 76196 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76196 wine foobar console output
Start with headphones plugged in and "Primary Sound Driver" selected as the output device in foobar2000.
Unplugged headphones, playback does not switch to the speakers. No additional console output.
Plugged headphones back in. Headphones are silent. No additional console output.
Change output device to "External Headphones", playback is restored to the headphones. Stuff is printed to the console.
Change output device to "Macbook Pro Speakers". Headphones go silent, but nothing comes out of the speakers. More stuff is printed to the console.
Change output device back to "Primary Sound Driver". Sound is restored to the headphones. More stuff is printed to the console.
Switched back and forth between these three output devices a few times and it eventually froze.

--- Comment #3 from Preston preston@babypuncher.net --- Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to this. The behavior has changed, somewhat for the better. I included more details in the comment on the attached console log.
