--- Comment #1 from mynot amount@bigpond.net.au 2013-07-26 19:07:58 CDT --- This is still a problem with Wine 1.6, Ubuntu 12.04, Adobe Digital Editions 1.7.2

--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

Scenario: 1. started Explorer.exe under winedbg 2. started Adobe ADE 4.0 under winedbg 3. docked and connected Kobo touch 4. Linux mounts Kobo touch under /media/tigger/KOBOeReader 5. Browsed to E: drive in Explorer and verified that Kobo touch is mapped to E: and files are visible 6. Waited 20 seconds, Kobo still not visible on the menu panel in Adobe ADE library view.

--- Comment #6 from Nick batphone88@gmail.com --- Created attachment 52345 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=52345 Explorer log corresponding to ADE log
This log is a companion to the ADE.log. It shows the explorer session run in parallel with ADE.
Note that Explorer was able to see and mount the device on E: drive, although it simply showed as a drive mapping, not necessarily as a detected device.

--- Comment #7 from Benoit Goudreault-Emond benge42ca@yahoo.ca --- I can reproduce this problem reliably with Wine 4.0.
There's a workaround, but it's very annoying to do.
1. Instead of opening ADE directly, open Wine Explorer 2. Run winecfg from explorer. 3. In drives, find the drive letter for the Kobo. Select it, click Advanced..., then select "Floppy", click Apply, OK. 4. Open ADE by navigating to its installation directory.
The Kobo will then be detected properly.
The fact that the Kobo is detected as a removable hard drive and that it somehow makes ADE fail is not really a concern. What is a concern though is that there doesn't seem to be a way to force mountmgr.sys to treat the Kobo as a floppy despite editing this in winecfg. Closing Wine and restarting it seems to wipe the settings out. Is there any way to make those settings persistent?
