Opening Wine in Linux Mint 17.3 results in instantaneous program crash with Program Error message (see attached). Makes it impossible to run any Windows-based programs.
Please update to Wine 2.3 and try running your application again as your Wine version is quite old.

Personally speaking, i would mark this bug as INVALID since the fault wasn't in whatever application you were running but an outdated version of Wine.
As for getting the latest build of Wine for Mint, you might as well forget about Mint ever updating their version of Wine and find a Wine PPA for Mint that offers the latest version.
