Summary: GraphEq: installs but doesn't run; hangs Product: Wine Version: 0.9.57. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: markrian@gmail.com
The app GraphEq[1] (Download[2]) installs perfectly, but doesn't run at all.
When you attempt to run the program, an empty window is created, and that is all. Clicking the close button does nothing, leaving you with the only option of killing the wine processes.

--- Comment #2 from Louis Lenders xerox_xerox2000@yahoo.co.uk 2008-03-12 13:17:37 --- It starts just fine here. Could you try on a complete new fresh .wine? Also, the first window here contains the license agreement. Didn't you see that ?

--- Comment #3 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-03-12 13:19:45 --- Works just fine here as well. You do need to click past the license agreement though.
What distro are you running and how did you install wine?

--- Comment #5 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-03-12 16:58:03 --- How about without a virtual desktop? Please my question in comment 3.

--- Comment #6 from markrian markrian@gmail.com 2008-03-12 16:59:38 --- Wow, you guys are quick.
Both of you said there's a licence agreement to click through, so I thought I must be going crazy. I removed ~/.wine and installed it again, and ran it again.
But I'm afraid I don't see a licence agreement - there's nothing in the window list indicating one. I also set wine to emulate a virtual desktop, which you can see in the attachment. When the VD is created, it looks for a split second as if a second window is created, but then it vanishes. I cannot resize or manipulate anything within the VD, nor even close it. I have to kill wine.
I'm running Ubuntu 7.10. I installed wine via information on http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb .

Sorry, took a while to reply. I first tried without virtual desktop, then with. Without, there was no other window other than this blank GraphEq window.

--- Comment #8 from Louis Lenders xerox_xerox2000@yahoo.co.uk 2008-03-12 17:25:19 --- I see a lot of fixme's in my console from SHAppBarMessage.
There's been a patch for this function a few days ago, so that could be the cause: me and Lei use current (where the patch is in) and you use wine-0.9.57 (whithout that patch) If possible, try use in current git,and otherwise see if wine-0.9.58 fixes the problem for you.

wine 0.9.58 does indeed fix the problem. Grafeq now runs, but not flawlessly. But that's for another bug, I suppose.
Marking fixed, hope that's okay ;o
