Created an attachment (id=8811) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=8811) Output log
The steps I did:
- installed wine 0.9.48 (using Fedora's rpms) - ran winecfg to set the audio driver to emulated (see bug 10193) - installed the Crysis demo - started the Crysis demo, which just immediately exited (see the attached log)
(The wine-directx-d3d is just a guess)

--- Comment #1 from Luke Bratch l_bratch@yahoo.co.uk 2007-10-28 08:38:57 --- Have you set UseGLSL = enabled as per the AppDB page?
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9583
Also, which graphics card/driver are you using?

--- Comment #2 from J.M. Maurer uwog@uwog.net 2007-10-28 08:48:50 --- I did not have UseGLSL = enabled set, but setting it does not seem to change anything.
I'm using a GeForce Go 7900 GS with the Nvidia 100.14.19 binary drivers.

--- Comment #8 from Luke Bratch l_bratch@yahoo.co.uk 2007-10-28 08:59:07 --- The log is telling you that you need d3dx9_34.dll, if you search for this (online) you should be able to find it.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10203
--- Comment #9 from Chris Spencer spencercw@googlemail.com 2007-10-28 09:08:41 --- You'll also need xinput1_3.dll. Stick them both in windows/system32.
