IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 v4.13.4 from GOG.com doesn't start, it quits immediately
after launch without showing anything in the terminal.
This was introduced by

The game starts properly with the previous commit.

Can't reproduce the problem with the downloadable demo version.

Also affected: Battle Realms, games from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, Risen,
Gothic 3, Freelancer.

Freelancer has a free demo which can be used to reproduce the problem:

The demo quits after the splash screen due to this bug.

Note: intro videos are not playing, you may want to add a semicolon ";" in
front of the lines in the [Startup] section in freelancer.ini to skip those
movies and for faster startup. E.g.:
