and sometimes i see this message too. when i start simulator then mostly it works. but sometimes it shows color rectangles on its sreen (as it is resetting) and then it freezes and i see this timeout messagein terminal. when i press ctrl-c in terminal alnd launch it again it always works
i use wine with emulation of desktop window (800x600) if it is interesting. system is mandrake 10.1, kernel is 2.6.11.11 and window manager is windowmaker. graphics card is ati radeon 9600 with ati drivers.
i don't think it will help much, i just wanted to point to fact that same message happens on older version then 0.9.22 too
