Installing lib32-libpulse package only resolves half of the sound issues -
sound does not play in the screen with rolling ball and when name is asked in
game over. There are Midi sound issues in the game. Using timidity or
fluidsynth does not play the sounds properly. Any of the directx components do
not fix the issue.

I can't reproduce the sound issues or don't know what sound you mean. The game
music and sound effects seems to be just fine for me.

I downloaded the installer and ran it. The game has music in the menus and you
can enjoy it in-game too if you press F5.

I compared dx-ball with another game called OpenTTD. There is only a difference
in OpenTTD with and without timidity running because OpenTTD requires MIDI
support.

dx-ball don't need Midi support I guess.

Make sure you have your system set up correctly.

You need to attach the full console log to give us something to work with.
