Summary: KDE freezes when opening a dialog with paths and (probably) file open control Product: Wine Version: 1.1.16 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: chris@juengling-edv.de
This behaviour was found in IMatch (http://www.photools.com), see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=15969 for additional information.
What happened:
KDE freezes when opening a dialog with paths and (probably) file open control. The dialog is built to relocate the path references in the image database to another destination. The old path (used during MS Windows usage) points to "E:\Bilddaten". E: was mapped in WINE to "/media/cdrom0" which was empty (no disc inside). Deleting this drive in the WINE configuration didn't help, the same behaviour occured.
It seems that the X session is affected, because a switch to another terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F2) and reboot the system is possible.

--- Comment #3 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2009-03-14 14:03:38 --- err:module:import_dll Library MSVCP60.dll (which is needed by L"C:\windows\system32\LTANN14NU.DLL") not found
You need to fix that: winetricks vcrun6

--- Comment #4 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2009-03-15 03:45:38 --- I used the "winetricks vcrun6" patch, but the same behaviour as reported is shown. I saw just one thing that may be different: It is possible to navigate in this "relocate" dialog with the keyboard, but not with the mouse. As before, the complete KDE surface is freezed, but this specific dialog can be controlled by TAB (next control) and ESC ("Cancel" button). After released with ESC, KDE works as usual again.

--- Comment #5 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2009-07-18 11:18:04 --- Trying the same with some updates later (Wine 1.1.26, IMatch 3.6.0.82) shows the same behaviour as reported.

--- Comment #6 from Christoph Jüngling chris@juengling-edv.de 2010-03-28 08:40:11 --- Now I'm working on a fresh installation of Ubuntu Linux 9.10, with Wine 1.1.41 and IMatch 3.6.0.90, and without "winetricks" installed.
Again IMatch seem to freeze regarding mouse behaviour when opening a dialog to relocate a folder to another path or media. Keyboard navigation and input is possible as usual under Windows, and mouse interaction is possible again after closing the dialog with ESC.
