Civilization 2 Test of Time launches correctly (and after cleaning -by accident- my ~/.wine folder, even with audio), but after selecting your civilization (should go into the game or customize civ, can't check right now) the game crashes, rendering it unplayable.

--- Comment #3 from Lionel Elie Mamane lionel@mamane.lu 2008-11-08 09:54:26 --- I still get this problem with (self-compiled) Wine 1.1.8, as well as with (distro, Debian,-provided) Wine 1.1.5.

Install procedure works perfectly. Running the game through "WINEPREFIX method" does not work : man must cd to civ.exe directory in order to run the game without any error.
Then the games starts properly. Configuration steps works perfectly, and finally game crashes when about to generate the world map. Console log attached.

--- Comment #7 from Hubert Mercier anigel@gmx.fr 2010-01-16 12:25:56 --- Hi,
Here are fresh (and good) news about this piece of software.
It was tested about one hour ago, using wine-1.1.36, using original media.
Install works well, I chose "custom install" to get everything on hard disk. Install works fine, but at the end, it launches the game, and I got a crash (had to kill the process).
To launch the game, it requires to 'cd' to the game install directory. Otherwise it just crashes. After that, everything seems to work fine. I need to play longer to be sure, but it seems to be ok.
Notice : Since I installed from original media, I had to patch the game with 1.1. No problem.
TYVM ;-)
