If you run ProtectionId on the game directory you'll receive several warnings
about the presence of Starforce protection:

Scanning -> C:\Program Files\Wings of Prey Demo\activate.exe
[!] StarForce 32 Bit v5.70.009.002 [FL ProActive]

Scanning -> C:\Program Files\Wings of Prey Demo\sound\aces.dat
[-] File is a StarForceFileSystem (SFFS) container

[?] Possibly StarForce..  4.50 or higher ?

If utility says about SF protection, so it may be.
