Summary: keys won't be released Product: Wine Version: 0.9.55. Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: larsphilip@gmx.de
I play any game in wine (tested with CSS, TF2 and Deus Ex) and after a random amount of time, one of the keyboard buttons I just pressed won't get released. For example, I press "s" for walking backwards and then release the button - but I keep walking backwards. Nothing will stop this, not pressing s again or escape or closing the game. This only happens in wine and I can't really debug anything because working with a PC where some button is pressed continuously is kinda impossible. Only restarting X helps. The fault does not lie with the keyboard, I even tried connecting a different one. Any ideas?
I get this in the console together with the bug, might be related: rr:region:CombineRgnInvalidrgn=0x234

--- Comment #1 from Ilya 141400@mail.ru 2008-03-11 11:18:24 --- Confirm. I have the same problem with Wine 0.9.56 and 0.9.57. In Wine 0.9.55 everythings OK. I try to unset option "Allow window manager to manipulate Wine windows" (smth about this, I have russian version of Wine) and any keys in CS and Quake don't work at all.

--- Comment #3 from Ilya 141400@mail.ru 2008-03-19 13:12:31 --- The real reason of this bug is xneur - automatic keyboard switcher. I stopped service 'xneur' and all keys work fine. Then added "Wine" to the list of excluded program in kxneur and run the service - everything work great in this case.

--- Comment #4 from Roman Sukochev leolikua@gmail.com 2008-03-19 16:57:25 --- Thank's Ilya! You right - that is xneur bug.

--- Comment #5 from Ian Zborovsky zimbabwa@inbox.ru 2008-04-24 04:40:43 --- Confirm. The bug can be reproduced on Wine 0.9.56-0.9.60. If it's purely xneur bug, why does it work fine on Wine <=0.9.55? It's definitely an interference issue.

--- Comment #6 from Juan Lang juan_lang@yahoo.com 2008-06-04 15:30:24 --- Can someone do a regression test to find out what broke it? http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting

If there are no downloadable programs that show this bug, and someone can confirm that it's still around in 1.1.8, I have a free gift copy of HL2 that I could give one of the developers as a last resort.
