$ mv ~/.wine ~/.wine.bak $ WINEARCH=win32 winecfg
FWIW, I can't reproduce this on my machine with a 64-bit wine build.

Well, nothing was fixed in wine. Can you try: $ mv ~/.wine ~/.wine.bak2 $ winecfg
without setting WINEARCH, and see if it still occurs? You may just have a broken configuration, or it could be a bug.
