Summary: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne installer crashes Product: Wine Version: 1.1.0 Platform: Other URL: http://www.blizzard.com/us/war3x/ OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: JBCK99@optonline.net
Hey,
I installed the original Warcraft III and went to install the expansion pack of The Frozen Throne, but the installer freezes and does not complete the installation. It stops when it tries to install War3xlocal.mpq and does not go any further. A screenshot of the problem is attached and the small output I got from the terminal was...
ctl 24000 (device=2 access=1 func=0 method=0) fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side color-index mode DIB copy fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side color-index mode DIB copy
Thank you in advance for your help. =)

--- Comment #3 from UnseenGhost JBCK99@optonline.net 2008-07-15 17:48:21 --- I started with a fresh Wine directory, and ran the installer as a normal user, and the problem still persists. The installer just stops and I no longer hear my computer running at full power (with fans and hardware at full capacity).

I started with a fresh Wine directory, and ran the installer as a normal user, and the problem still persists. The installer just stops and I no longer hear my computer running at full power (with fans and hardware at full capacity).
I also got the terminal error of:
err:wave:wodPlayer_WriteMaxFrags Error in writing wavehdr. Reason: Resource temporarily unavailable
