--- Comment #5 from Alex R alex@ahhyes.net 2009-05-17 12:09:19 --- Can confirm the game does not run.
Tested with Wine v1.1.21 OS=Ubuntu 9.0.4 64 bit Vid Card = Nvidia 8800GTS with latest proprietary NVidia driver, GL subsystem working perfectly.
When attempting to launch the game, the mohaa console window opens briefly, then the application quits.
See below:
alex@alex-desktop:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/EA GAMES/MOHAA$ err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1760 bytes in thread 0021 eip 7bc3c4ae esp 01400c50 stack 0x1400000-0x1401000-0x1c00000
I am aware there is a registry patch that can be applied, which seems to disable a tonne of GL extensions, on applying this, the game actually starts, however the game looks shocking (wireframe graphics).
Why this bug has a status of unconfirmed seems silly to me. Why not just fix wine so hacks to disable parts of opengl are not needed?
Could someone please look into this? it shouldn't be that hard for a member of the development team to test and reproduce the problems, since mohaa is nearly 10 years old, you could probably grab a copy from your local gaming shop in the bargain bin for $1

--- Comment #6 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr 2009-05-17 13:16:01 --- I thought it was a bug in the game itself. In Windows, Nvidia and ATI put a workaround to fix it. I think Cedaga does that too.
I think it is not Wine fault and this bug should be marked as INVALID

--- Comment #7 from Antonio López amlopezalonso@gmail.com 2009-05-31 18:47:39 --- I have succesfully run MOHAA with 1.1.21 (GeForce 8500 GT) applying the registry patch and have not experienced any wireframe looks as Alex R. says (used a no-cd patch also :-P ).
I can confirm this is NOT a bug in Wine but more likely in newer NVidia drivers (maybe in the game itself) as I also get a grey screen and game quitting when tryng to run it in native Windows XP (you should use a card tweaking tool to change this behavior).
So I agree and suggest this should be marked INVALID.
Alex R.:
Have you noticed the HUGE amount of apps and bugs (many of them with higher priorities and votes than MOHAA) these guys are to deal with?
