Summary: PLSQLDeveloper freeze Gnome on initial update notification Product: Wine Version: 1.1.34 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://www.allroundautomations.com OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: alex@stanev.org
PLSQLDeveloper has a feature to check online and notify on startup on new releases. When this happens, the "Update" window is shown and the Gnome "freezes". However, the mouse moves, but the shell does not accept clicks. Going through tty console and killing the process helps - after restart, the message is not shown again. Manual checking through Help->Check online updates... does not express this bug.

--- Comment #1 from Dmitry Timoshkov dmitry@codeweavers.com 2009-12-20 00:32:52 --- Isn't this a bug in Gnome?

--- Comment #2 from Alex Stanev alex@stanev.org 2009-12-20 09:56:33 --- It might be, but it is surely triggered by wine, and does not happen with other applications.

I wanted to have a look, but unfortunately this program in:
(menu) Tools->Preferences->Others->Updates&News
says "Online updates & News are disabled in the trial version". So it's not probablly possible to test it with trial versions.

--- Comment #4 from Alex Stanev alex@stanev.org 2009-12-21 02:50:15 --- I can try to chase this out, just point me from where to start, eg. what useful channels I can include in WINEDEBUG

--- Comment #5 from Dmitry Timoshkov dmitry@codeweavers.com 2009-12-21 03:03:45 --- You need to debug Gnome not Wine, since it's not Wine who freezes.
