Bug ID: 47563 Summary: Sforzando Sample Player works but GUI is blank (unusable) Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: linuxguy93@gmail.com Distribution: ArchLinux
Created attachment 64964 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=64964 A zip archive of sforzando's output. One for normal output and one for output with d2d being debugged.
Sforzando's GUI using any version of wine produces a blank, but working GUI on Archlinux. It seems to be a d2d issue combined with the way OpenGL core contexts are exposed in mesa on Archlinux. Sforzando can be found here: https://www.plogue.com/downloads.html Aria Engine: http://ariaengine.com/support/aria-engine-update/
Hardware: CPU: Intel Ivy Bridge 3570K GPU: AMD RX460 32 GB DDR3 Ram
Software: OS: Arch Linux Kernel: 5.2.3 mesa: 19.1.3 wine: 4.12.1 app version: sforzando 1.952 (aria engine version as well)

--- Comment #3 from linuxguy93@gmail.com --- Here is what sforzando should look like https://drive.google.com/file/d/136ep9NFbhdQN3oXZt5US4lcN1t7RqCdF/view?usp=s...
Here is what it looks like launching from a gnome-terminal https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pN4JOJr5_DcXwmnGIANHlYWN4-kWgGhJ/view?usp=s...
As you can see if I click around enough I can actual open a menu without seeing the dialog that needs to be clicked, very odd behavior hope that helps.

--- Comment #4 from linuxguy93@gmail.com --- With wine 4.0.1 built from source using this script I was able to get the gui FINALLY working. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wine-stable/
Its missing some fonts but once I install corefonts and tahoma its perfect. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c1-skQyr7Qgx5NLCSW5MiAEkQIebuVqb/view?usp=s...

--- Comment #5 from linuxguy93@gmail.com --- Created attachment 64969 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=64969 aria engine logs spread across wine versions
the log files will give you an aria engine version and a corresponding wine version.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47563
--- Comment #6 from linuxguy93@gmail.com --- If I use an older version of aria engine (1.872) like in the gpo5 packaged version of aria player I get a perfectly rendered interface. Also I don't need to install tahoma and core fonts to get the thing rendering perfectly under any version of wine thus far it's weird. I suspect it could be due to this aria engine version using a d2d version from directx9 instead of an implementation of directx11 d2d like in later revisions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HqN3bOOgaT8JeglifQYZeRXwkgHDrr_q/view?usp=s...
Lastly, I've attached a zip with a d2d debug log of aria player (aria engine 1.872) from wine 4.12.1 and a d2d log of sforzando (aria engine 1.952) working with wine stable 4.0.1. Both logs are from the app either perfectly rendering or being fully useable (rendering near perfect).
