Summary: bricscad cant open large files Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P3 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ricardoperry@gmail.com CC: ricardoperry@gmail.com
Opening large drawing (>1mb)takes forever to load, CPU goes to 100%, and RAM stays the same.
Zooming in and out in large drawing not usable. Takes too long to zoom,
Something should be done, since what i wrote in "Does not work" is a problem i've noticed in all Intellicad based CAD.
Since Linux dont have a nice CAD program so far, it should be high priority, We appreciate your help in making the Application Database better for all users.

I won't put it to "minor"..... it's almost 'normal' for apps that have good native counterparts on Linux, and we really don't have any one on cad field.

Since this bug is about performance - minor.
If you name "performance" a stuff that makes an app completely useless, ok, then it's minor.....

Does the dib engine from bug 421 help?
Display is sped-up (on semi-complex drawings) by a factor of at least 10.... but opening a drawing is not influenced by it.
Bricscad is already much slower opening drawings than Autocad, but on wine it becomes unusable.
I'd resume with 2 separate bugs, one for slow display, on which the engine helps quite a lot, and the loading slowness (of which I don't know the cause).
Pity because Bricscad is a good and *much* cheaper alternative as autocad.
