Have you tried Wine 1.9.17?

--- Comment #2 from winetest@luukku.com --- I believe this bug report is actually a dupe of bug 40688, the freegate version just differs. And I believe that bug report is dupe of bug 37243.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41234
--- Comment #3 from Cami caminostro3@gmail.com --- I tried running FreeGate on wine 2.1 via playonlinux with the same result.
I tested some older versions of FreeGate and they seem to be running ok via wine. It seems that something in FreeGate has changed that doesn't allow it to be run. Versions 7.54 and older run, while version 7.55 and more recent ones do not run.
Can anything be done about this? Is a new library or something else needed to be installed before running the newer versions?

Is this the app: http://freegate.soft32.com/free-download/?dm=1
if so, please add downloadlink. I tried the app from that site, and it seems to be running here (at least a nice window (i guess main window(?) comes up where i can see some networktraffic graphic)

--- Comment #5 from Cami caminostro3@gmail.com --- Yes, it's the same app, although the official site is: http://dongtaiwang.com/loc/download.en.php
And yes, that is the main window.
There is a new version too: 7.60. I couldn't get version 7.60 to run, either on wine 1.6 or wine 2.1 via Playonlinux.
What kind of a system did you run it on?
I am currently using Ubuntu 16.04 with both the Unity and KDE desktops installed.
Here is the terminal output:

--- Comment #6 from winetest@luukku.com --- I believe all versions that have worked, didnt have this line in console spam K32EnumDeviceDrivers and all that didnt have it like the latest comment.
Most likely the system itself has nothing to do with the program not running or running.

I don`t think that is correct. In fact, the K32EnumDeviceDrivers line appears three times here in my console, and the app seems to start fine: . . fixme:wininet:get_proxy_autoconfig_url no support on this platform fixme:file:K32EnumDeviceDrivers (0x3281ec, 4096, 0x3279e8): stub fixme:file:K32EnumDeviceDrivers (0x327460, 4096, 0x326c5c): stub fixme:file:K32EnumDeviceDrivers (0x3273fc, 4096, 0x326bf8): stub err:winediag:IcmpCreateFile Failed to use ICMP (network ping), this requires special permissions. Could it have something to do with network configuration? I haven`t got a clue. Maybe Bruno has an idea

--- Comment #9 from Bruno Jesus 00cpxxx@gmail.com --- I can confirm this, the main window never appears. Wine 2.3, Debian.
+relay makes the application crash. Almost no network is used up to the point it is supposed to be showing the main application. The application starts around 20 threads and all are sleeping or WaitingForObjects.
Tested FreeGate 7.60: 37aaebf2c9db6af346cdeee751ec8ea594e74094 fg760p.exe
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41234
--- Comment #10 from Cami caminostro3@gmail.com --- As follow-up, I should mention that Freegate 7.59 and 7.60 run on Ubuntu 16.10 and Manjaro 17 with the latest updates installed via wine. So maybe some library or file is missing from Ubuntu 16.04.

--- Comment #11 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- Launch fine here with wine-5.22. Anyway reporter said the bug depended on the Linux version. Surely INVALID. Can an administrator close this bug as INVALID.
