I already reported a bug about Crossfire EU (you can find it here https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45920), but now it merged with Crossfire NA and the new link for download is http://crossfire.z8games.com/download.html The .exe file is different than before, but it doesn't install yet; I don't know if the problem is the same or not. I attached my console output. You can reproduce the bug just by downloading the file and trying to install. I kept my terminal open for more than 3 hours beacuse the process is "running" and if I close the terminal it says that a process is still running and closing the terminal will kill it. Therefore I don't know if my console output is complete or not. If I can help in some way, just tell me! :)

--- Comment #1 from luca.finizio.mgbx@hotmail.it --- Additional info: in my system monitor I noticed that when nothing else is displayed in the terminal (after the fixmes), the process "Waiting Channel" is set to "pipe_wait". The last fixme that I get is

0068:fixme:font:get_nearest_charset returning DEFAULT_CHARSET face->fs.fsCsb[0] = 20000000 file = L"/usr/share/fonts/truetype/fonts-gujr-extra/aakar-medium.ttf"

Then the program keeps running (in system monitor) with "pipe_wait" in Waiting Channel column. Maybe it's waiting for something. I don't know if this can help.

0009:err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.

by installing winbind package (the error is not present anymore in console output after installing winbind). But I can't install Crossfire yet.

I was able to start the installer by WINEARCH=win32 ``winetricks ie8``

Minimal set of native dlls: mshtml, urlmon and jscript. (with only mshtml and urlmon the window comes up as well but crashes a few secs after the initial window comes up)

Apparently a mshtml deficiency

With Wine 4.12 I got this error (it wasn't present before Wine 4.12). I also attached the console output for completeness (console output 2).

I retested this with Wine 5.2. Now debug starts automatically and I get this console output.

By using the alternative installer, downloading all the parts, i could install the game, but by running crossfire.exe a error window shows up: "Client and OS have different version"

Update: I could open the launcher by running patcher_cf.exe By researching, it seems the "OS and Client have different version" issue also happens on Windows to some users

Terminal output has changed with Wine 5.19 (see attached file). An error window comes up saying "Timeout waiting for window to load" (see image) and installation doesn't go forward.
