This is known as "thirdparty/mdac28/dasetup.exe" on the QuickBooks Pro 2006 CD.

I ran into this "unable to install" problem of this component while trying to
install QuickBooks Pro 2006.

Notes: I have "Internet Explorer 6" installed  {by ie4linux}
Plus   "DCOM98.exe" {by ie4linux}
Plus   "flash 7"  {by "wine msiexec.exe install_flash_player_7.msi" }
Plus   "dotnetfx.exe"  {some "fixme" but nothing that stops things}

Whatever that last line means bring it to a dead STOP and a failed install.
note: to get this far you will also need a copy of "userenv.dll"
I'm trying to defaultly use "win 2000" or above settings.

{Follow the instruction on the web page and "TEMP" will have a copy of all the
files on the CD almost.}

This is a "SHOW STOPPER" and will not allow the install of QuickBooks Pro 2006
to complete.

System:
  Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy  with a linux 2.6.12-10-k7 kernel
  Wine 0.9.11 installed by apt from "http://wine.sourceforge.net/apt/ binary/"
