--- Comment #1 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2009-08-04 14:24:33 --- Still present in latest git.
err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 16x16x16 @0! (desktop)
Could this be a problem with my config rather than a Wine bug? 16x16x16 @0 is a very unusual mode.

--- Comment #2 from Jörg Höhle hoehle@users.sourceforge.net 2009-09-07 06:48:15 --- What results do you get in a 16bpp screen (if your graphics card supports it)? startx -- :1 -depth 16
My old notes say on a wine < 1.0 test run: With a 16bpp X display, after the black screen and the music ends, a correct and large SimCity3000 logo appears, and a requester says: [follows Unknown Exception from bug #7067]

--- Comment #3 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2009-09-10 06:37:32 --- The game starts fine using startx -- :1 -depth 16
Is this definitely a Wine bug or does the problem lay elsewhere?

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-12-23 18:28:17 CST --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.9 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #5 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2011-04-21 11:55:38 CDT --- Unlimited edition works fine. Original probably fine too, can't find disc. Will reopen if it is still a problem.

--- Comment #7 from Jörg Höhle hoehle@users.sourceforge.net 2011-05-01 16:21:43 CDT --- My CD-ROM simply says "Sim City 3000", not "unlimited". It's the first time I manage to run SC3 without bug #7067, great! There's no need anymore to start X in 16bpp. FWIW, I can confirm nearly all of Ken's comments in AppDB and his recent bug reports.
SC3 manages to turn Ubuntu Intrepid's screen completely black even in virtual desktop mode with wine-1.3.19. Then I need Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to kill X. No such trouble with Ubuntu Lucid (with 1.3.16).
