Bug ID: 50007 Summary: NCLauncher2 crashes after login: System.NullReferenceException Product: Wine-staging Version: 5.19 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: dracoanarion@gmail.com CC: leslie_alistair@hotmail.com, z.figura12@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 68414 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=68414 Console logs
As an attempt to play Aion (NA version), I tried to install the NCLauncher2. Based on the information available here: https://support.aiononline.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049020131-Installation-I..., I have installed the following in a fresh 64bit wine prefix:
winetricks dotnet462 corefonts d3dx9
(d3dx9 is needed for the game itself, not the launcher)
On successful login, the IP address of the user is verified. If a new IP is detected, NCSoft requires to validate the new location (and offers to save it), by sending a digit code to the mail address corresponding.
The crash occurs if the correct code is provided.

--- Comment #3 from Steve Soule sts33nvyb@gmail.com --- I, too, am seeing this bug, with the exact same Application Log. This is with Wine 6.4. It happens when I click on the "Login" button. For me, there is no email to validate my IP address; presumably my IP address has already been validated.
I found that I had to do "winetricks dotnet462 corefonts d3dx9" before installing NCLauncher2, just as Fred did. If I didn't, NCLauncher2 wouldn't run at all.

--- Comment #4 from andorreta@gmail.com --- Created attachment 70463 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=70463 Log in the launcher window
Running wine 6.14 tried to execute the NCLauncherS.exe and after click the LOGIN button this log appeared. I think that my IP is also stored in their servers.
When using the NCLauncher2.exe I have the same error as the other logs.
BTW: Using DXVK make the UI of the launcher appear black, at least with NVIDIA propietary drivers, so disable DXVK to try the launcher :)

Additional data: I set the windows version to Windows 10 and i also tried with the NCLauncher2.exe and gave me the same error. So maybe this error is related to the windows version.
I also tried using virtual desktop, but got the same error.
