Just started open beta yesterday I think. URL link should allow a download of the (rather enormous) installer. The application installs without any issues, but when you attempt to run the game updater it fails. Output attached.
This is running on a core 2 duo, ati video using fglrx

It does bring up a blank white screen and I suspect it might be doing something now (although what I couldn't tell you). They've been having some nutty patcher issues, so I'll try with the last update and a clean prefix and report back.

--- Comment #4 from handsomepete jeff.mitchell+WINE@gmail.com 2009-08-18 17:25:12 --- with a new prefix and the latest installer it still doesn't crash and it still has a blank white window. output attached. note that the last line of the output (fixme:shdocvw:InPlaceFrame_SetStatusText (0x201a28)->(L"Done")) shows up a minute or so after the blank white window which is what makes me think it might be doing something.

Turns out that presently the patcher is dependent on Internet Explorer and it can be used w/ winetricks ie6. When only using gecko the patcher won't display at all and is unusable.
The game won't run, but that's beyond the scope of this bug and I'm sure someone will put something in for that. Thanks for the quick response.

This ticket has not been updated for over 900 days. Development recommends to check the status on your bug every release or two and let to be known if the bug is still present. If not, mark it fixed.
Is this still an issue with 1.7.0 or higher ?
