--- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2010-06-11 16:45:49 --- Also tested with 1.2-rc3, problem still present.

--- Comment #2 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2010-06-12 00:02:45 --- Oh, and if you let the window lose focus, then even in virtual desktop mode, keystrokes are ignored, and you can't start the game.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2010-12-22 17:34:33 CST --- Still works fine for me, now in 1.3.9.

I can confirm that, though the patch from bug 23643, fixes it for me.
But the original bug I can't confirm. Please retest.

--- Comment #6 from Ivan vaniaz@msn.com 2011-04-11 15:22:56 CDT --- I experience that bug with wine 1.3.17. Can't click. Once managed, but cursor was pretty far away from where the game thought it was. Also, without virtual desktop the game does not start in full screen.

--- Comment #7 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2011-04-11 15:31:07 CDT --- See also bug 26285. I probably should have filed that as more detail on this one, but I'm not quite sure it's the same.

--- Comment #8 from Goblinstomper@gmail.com 2012-07-27 22:33:35 CDT --- Original report is still valid for wine 1.5.9 - full screen require a mouse-click before keyboard input is accepted.

--- Comment #9 from needle qui_wan_chong@yahoo.de 2012-11-18 09:32:13 CST --- Confirming it for wine 1.5.2 which I am using now. The workaround with Virutal Desktop enabling, works for me, then keyboard input works.
Can not test this workaround for 1.5.17 since I am hitting another bug with black screen, where there is no fix currently for the most recent version.
