Summary: Steam interface gradually gets slower on RC7 Product: Wine Version: 1.2-rc7 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: nrg753@gmail.com
Steam gradually gets slower on Wine RC7. I have regenerated the issue a few times by dragging/resizing windows, clicking on tabs and logging into friends etc.
This may be related to the dragging problems that steam had before, where it would jump twice as far as you intended it to move. It also doesn't seem to any longer have the hover/window focus problems so far.
There is nothing obvious in the console log, I do see a lot of "Corrupt JPEG data", but nothing is happening repeatedly.
Would prefer if Valve just released their native version!

--- Comment #1 from Jeff Zaroyko jeffz@jeffz.name 2010-07-11 00:08:42 --- Are you saying this doesn't happen on an earlier version of Wine? If so, please post the results of your regression test http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting

--- Comment #2 from nrg753 nrg753@gmail.com 2010-07-12 02:49:16 --- I'll try to do some regression testing when I have time to do it, I've never done one before.
Once thing I've noticed now is that I had set Wine to "Windows 7" mode, but when run under XP mode Steam runs the same as always (like in previous versions of Wine).
So whatever this is, it's either something to do with Steam changing something when it detects what version of Windows it's running on (likely, could be webkit?) or it's something that Wine is doing when changing modes.

--- Comment #3 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2011-12-11 12:55:31 CST --- Are you still experiencing the problem with a more recent version of Wine (1.3.34 or newer)? Any progress on the regression test?
