There is an issue with the Roblox Client where communications from client to server are interrupted. This affects any Wine version, as well as Wine Staging. There is an issue on GitHub which has been tracking this issue; I will link to it below so the content isn't duplicated. This issue was caused with the July 16th version of Roblox; previous versions of Roblox work in Wine, but the client requires the most recent version of the game to be installed.

To give more value for this dupe merge. I say that the merge was done against wine 2.0-rc2.

So the bug is still valid against up to date wine.

This is caused by VMProtect, Roblox's anti-cheating engine. There is not currently a way to work around this.

I've submitted a patch (https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/207636) that should fix this issue. I feel obligated to also mention that VMProtect is DRM software not anti-cheat, and was not the cause of the issue.
