Bug ID: 38986 Summary: my .wine/drive_c is completely EMPTY! Product: Wine Version: 1.7.48 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: programs Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: yelled@yahoo.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 51941 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=51941 apt reinstall of wine plus directory list
I kept getting $winetricks ------------------------------------------------------ wine cmd.exe /c echo '%ProgramFiles%' returned empty string ------------------------------------------------------ error Naturally, I thought it was my mistake, but! As seen at below attachment, my .wine/drive_c is completely EMPTY! I attempted to wipe everything out by issuing
sudo apt-get remove wine1.7 rm -rf $HOME/.wine && rm -f $HOME/.config/menus/applications-merged/wine* && rm -rf $HOME/.local/share/applications/wine && rm -f $HOME/.local/share/desktop-directories/wine* && rm -f $HOME/.local/share/icons/????_*.xpm sudo apt-get remove --purge wine sudo apt-get remove --purge wine1.7 sudo apt-get remove --purge winetricks sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get autoclean && sudo apt-get clean sudo apt-get autoremove
Several times, but the directory is still empty. Using Ubuntu 14.04.2 64 bit Everything was fine until I reinstalled wine Thanks,
wine --version wine-1.7.44 winetricks --version 20140302

--- Comment #3 from S Yoon yelled@yahoo.com --- Will roll bk kernel & report back. Not sure why broken kernel would equal to no wine files appearing in the directory. Plus, Teamviewer works ok so far.

after downgrading to above 58 from 59. It works. Painful downgrade with issues with Nvidia etc... But thank you for point to right direction. 59 seems to be removed. sudo apt update & upgrade do not show it anymore. But may be issue for people who already upgraded.
