Bug ID: 51910 Summary: Keyboard Input Partially Broken Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dinput Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: escomk3@hotmail.com Distribution: ---
Here's an interesting one.
After 71ecc179aab [1], some keyboard keys no longer (completely) work as they should in FINAL FANTASY XI Online.
For example, the arrow keys no longer navigate through menus, while they do still move the cursor in chat.
Other keys that have become partially "mute" include:
- right ctrl - insert - delete - home - end - page up - page down - / (numpad) - Enter (numpad)

--- Comment #1 from Rémi Bernon rbernon@codeweavers.com --- Thanks, for my information do you use a non-us keyboard layout? And if you can switch, does it fixes anything?

--- Comment #2 from Chiitoo escomk3@hotmail.com --- Indeed I do, but switching to 'English (US)' does not seem to have any effect to the current behaviour.
Thanks!

--- Comment #3 from Rémi Bernon rbernon@codeweavers.com --- I sent https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/217961 which should hopefully fix the issue (at least it fixed some visible regression this change introduced).

--- Comment #4 from Chiitoo escomk3@hotmail.com --- Interesting.
Yep, looking good so far.
Thank you!

--- Comment #5 from Aurora Robb Kristiansen isoginchaku@protonmail.com --- Could it be somehow related to this? https://github.com/FridgeRacer/wine-staging/commit/d8496cacd170347bbde755ead...
A tool called Windower 4 is very popular with Final Fantasy XI players to improve quality of life in-game, but using it makes the game exhibit the same behavior Chiitoo described in the first comment.
Playing without Windower 4 enabled makes the game work fine again.
Some players discovered that rebuilding Wine with this commit reverted fixes the issue, and playing with Windower 4 works again.
I should probably open a bug for Windower regarding this, but just putting this here in case it helps.
