--- Comment #2 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- I can confirm the crash when initiating an air battle and select the <Autoresolve> option in the pop-up window. I tested with the GOG.com version of the game (v1.06).
According to my testing, this is a regression from Wine 1.3.18:

--- Comment #4 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- Still present in wine-1.7.37-66-gfa685fc This bug affects only game version 1.07 and older. The game developers were aware of the problem and they fixed the issue in the game code quite some time ago. The problem doesn't exist with game version 1.08 or newer.

Mac / Linux bugs should now be able to Autoresolve combat without it crashing

--- Comment #5 from super_man@post.com --- Is this even possible to test anymore? Games tend to autoupgrade themselves. Unless you have some cd copy/gog or something.

--- Comment #6 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- You may close this bug if you wish to, as it affects only certain (old) versions of the game (retested and still present in 1.8-rc4).

Is still a bug in current wine(3.20)?
I have no longer access to that old version of the game so I can't test it anymore. The current version I have on GOG.com is v1.65.

Since you were the only active tester of this bug and OP hasn't responded since 2014, I'm going to go ahead and mark this ABANDONED.
If anyone still has access to the old version and is able to reproduce the issue, feel free to request reopening.
