Bug ID: 41991 Summary: total commander label of partition Product: Wine Version: 1.9.22 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: andrej8anubis@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 56403 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=56403 none label
Total commander does not show a label of the partition instead, _none_ is written where label should be as show in the picture in attachment
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41991
--- Comment #1 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- It's normal, when label is not set. Did you try to set a label for C: and start Total Commander again? It works for me.

--- Comment #2 from Andrej andrej8anubis@gmail.com ---
If I go to total commander menu -> commands -> volume label than, it shows that label yes
But, shouldn't it get label from disk/partition that is set something like?: tune2fs -L label1 /dev/sda1

--- Comment #3 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com --- No, I don't think it's supposed to do that, there's no clear way to map partition to virtual volume in wineprefix. Also it's possible that wineprefix tree is spread across several partitions.

@ Andrej
Since you didn't provide any application version information I guessed it from TC author changelog and the bug creation date.

Taking TC 9.0a from the same day even if it probably was some week earlier RC or beta.
--- snip --- Total Commander 9.0a (final) für Windows verfügbar!
8. Dezember 2016: Total Commander 9.0 Release-Kandidat 3 (rc3) ist ab sofort verfügbar. --- snip ---
Please always specify the exact application version and/or version range to reproduce a bug. It's an important property of a bug report. In fact there are various broken TC versions that Wine worked around or were fixed in later versions of TC (not a Wine bug).
It's as Nikolay said: those drive letters can be mapped to anything mountable and it doesn't necessarily need to be a filesystem partition. I have 'HOME' directory mapped to drive letter 'H:'.
Wine's special '.windows-label' files work as intended. IMHO nothing to fix here.
