Summary: EVE Online: Cloak breaks overview/speed info Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: wine-directx AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: epssyis@gmail.com CC: stefandoesinger@gmx.at
When the cloaking module (tested with prototype cloak) is activated the speed meter under the cap display bugs out - it can display two different speeds or the wrong speed. The clock in the bottom left freezes. Also the relative distances in the overview bug as well much like the clock. All information reads correct on their mouse over displays and everything but the clock returns to normal once the cloaking device has been disabled.

When I talked about it in the IRC channel he asked to be CC'd.

--- Comment #3 from Stefan Dösinger stefandoesinger@gmx.at 2007-10-20 04:20:33 --- I asked to be CCed on IRC because Eve Online bugs are interesting for me since we support them in Crossover.

--- Comment #4 from Stefan Dösinger stefandoesinger@gmx.at 2007-10-20 04:22:10 --- Edward, I'm pretty much an Eve noob. Can you explain to me step by step how to get the Cloacking module? Does it require an advanced character, or is there a quick way to get it with a newly created character?

--- Comment #5 from Vorobyov Anton phoenix@mail.ru 2007-10-21 01:48:27 --- I'm afraid that you should have pretty good (with electronics 5th level and cloaking 1st level, which cannot be trained on trial accounts) character to use it. And also i wonder if it's wrong behaviour or not - what is expected (how does it work in windows)?

--- Comment #6 from edward savage epssyis@gmail.com 2007-11-08 20:15:21 --- After further testing I now consider this a regression that is just made more apparent by the cloaking issue. Over this weekend I'll do a regression test and see if I can pinpoint when the distance indicators stopped working.

--- Comment #8 from edward savage epssyis@gmail.com 2008-03-31 13:54:26 --- Cloaking has been reanimated and this bug no longer applies the way it did.
How ever the new cloaking effect does not work correctly either.
Under windows the cloaking effect starts from the front of your ship and in a wave makes it invisible, under wine there is a pause where the ship is fully visible and then cloaked. The wave animation is missing.

--- Comment #10 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2009-01-18 03:46:15 --- Removing deprecated CVS/GIT version tag. Please retest in current git. If the bug is still present in today's wine, but was not present in some earlier version of wine, please update version field to earliest known version of wine that had the bug. Thanks!
