Hi. I test new version of wine (1.9.8). There is new bug.

Before version 1.9.8, I was able to copy serial number from a text file & copy
it to registration box to unlock program.

In version 1.9.8 this not working. I have to enter serial menually to register
!!

I test this on PDF eraser & very pdf pdf password removal & ...... other
programs. I use same versions of these programs that I test previously on
previous versions of wine.

Please fix. It is a regression.

I was able to crash PDF Eraser once trying to paste some text into the unlock
code box but when I ran a second time to collect the crash log it is no longer
crashing. Does it crash for you or there is some other kind of failure?

Hi. I did not copy/past any text. I copy/past serial no. from text file, then
put mouse pointer in registration box. Then right click menu then clicking on
"past" from right click menu. NO THING PAST AT ALL.

It is not limited to PDF eraser. But for many (or in fact probably for any)
program !!

By the way, no any program ceash to me. Just can not past any thing. I have to
enter serial no. menually. If I enter serial menually, every program I test
then will activated.

Hi. About my comment (comment 2) I have to correct that regarding PDF Eraser
this occuring if you installing PDF Eraser without wintricks (mfc42) & this
what I have been done wrongly.

I installed wintricks (mfc42) & retest PDF Eraser. Yes as you correct: PDF
Eraser crashed just when I copy/past serial nomber !! But when I enter serial
no. menually it work fine without crashing.

Regarding other programs that I test (like Affordable pdf resriction removal,
very pdf pdf password removal,.......) they are not affected by mfc42
installation & ALL what I explianed previously in my comment (comment 2)
applied to them.

It seem that PDF Eraser has additional bug regarding copy/past to registration
bux.

If this worked fine in older versions of Wine, it could indeed be a regression.
Could you please run a regression test to find out which change broke it? You

I'm sure from it was working fine (copy/past) in previous versions of wine.

But regarding regression test, I'm sorry I can not assisst at all. I'm not
programer at all. I do not understanding any thing in programing & source
codes. More over I'm just beginner in Linux. Regression test in far diffecult
to me.

That is OK, but if the crash is reliable to you (reproducible every time)
please get a log:

I remember seeing something related to mono in the crash but since I cannot
reproduce it any longer I can't help.

Hi. Crash is no longer available to me alsoo !!

I try to uninstall PDF Eraser from within wine (using "uninstall PDF Eraser"
option that available in wine menu), then reinstall program again. But when I
try to copy/past serial, crash did not occured ! All what happened is that no
thing past to registration bux but no crash at all !!

I try to uninstall/reinstall program at multiple occasions but crash not
reproduced ! I think that one should uninstall wine with purge then reinstall
it again (with mfc42) & finally reinstall PDF Eraser to reproduce crash.

In the previous comment you said that you were no longer able to reproduce it.
Did you find a way in the meantime? Having clear steps how to reproduce the
issue can help significantly to get it fixed.

Very simple: I formated USB, then re-installed Linux Mint 17.3 X64 xfce as Live
USB OS (with persistant value), & then installing WineHQ again from zero.

While testing VeryPDF for bug 40662, I also tested pasting text into the
registration box, and I can't reproduce this problem in a clean wineprefix.
Whatever I had on the clipboard was pasted into the field, whether I used
Ctrl-V or right-clicked and selected Paste from the menu, and nothing crashed.

My guess is the problem is an unclean wineprefix.

Hi. This bug still existing on Wine 1.9.11

I do not think issue related to wineprefixes because I test on Wine 1.9.11 &
found that bug 40662 is fixed while this bug (bug 40496) is still existing.

Closing bugs fixed in 1.9.13.
